Hello again, I'm back! I'm back to tell you the journey of my and my friends' work about ELT. As a young teacher candidate, I decided to set up a language program that will help people to develop their English language. At first, I had to decide on some criteria.

What to teach
To whom to teach
How to teach

To decide on these, I made a little needs analysis. I created a google form and asked some questions like: "What would it be if you attend a program about language (especially English)?", "How long do you think this program should be?", "What do you wish it did for you when the program ended?" and "Wishes & suggestions you want to add". 172 people answered the form. Then, according to the answers, I found out that people done the form mostly want to attend a program about developing 4 skills of English, want the "would be" program to last for 2 or more than 2 months, and want to be able to speak at the end. Based on these results, I told my friends about the situation that I was thinking of designing a program and asked them if we could become teammates. We designed a 1-month program based on listening and speaking skills. We decided to hold a total of 4 zoom meetings 2 days a week for 1 month. As our team is a group of 4, we decided to accept 40 participants. We created another form, which was about the application to the program we have created. We asked the candidates about their names, ages, numbers, e-mails, where do they study, what do they study; if not, what do they do for a living and some questions like "What does learning languages mean to you?", "What are your expectations from this program?" and "What do you aim to achieve at the end of the program?". At last, we gave them a link to the British Council which will determine their English level. Thus, we could be able to categorize them according to their levels. We got 128 applications and we had to decide on 40. After we decided, we made them groups of 10. 3 groups are intermediate and 1 group is a beginner. We created our poster. We are now deciding on how we're gonna make our lessons and what we're gonna teach (most importantly, how we're gonna teach).

Stay tuned for our next steps!
